happy ladies in christmas.

2NE1 ladies played dress-up with Elle Korea December's "Share Happiness" edition.
Honestly, I have a feeling that this is the closest thing 2NE1 will ever do for Christmas. They wore mutiple classic/qurky pieces throughout the photoshoot, and I really am liking the "simpleness" to it for a long time (finally!) without too much color and patteren on them. CL just rockin' all the solo shoots, same with Minzy. Dara and Bom, just like all the other Korean women in the intertainment business, looking flawless as hell, but they somehow don't particularly popped in these photos. I am kind of still secretly wishing 2NE1 would take some advantage of the current "holiday spirit" and perhaps do a Christmas get-up just for the sake of it. But apparently from past year exprience YG is not really a big fan of using their holidays for work oppurtunity. Anyways, I am still a fan of the Elle photoshoot, they really looked stunning.

and guess what becomes the background of my laptop?

little prep, got the coat.

As the november slowly kickin' in (holiday season and all), season autumn is fading out while winter (which means snow, snow, and snow here at mile-high where I live) starting to make its entrance. Trench coat, however, is like that timeless piece of clothing that EVERYONE should have in their closet. Picture above that I assume will be an eye candy for a lot of people (unfortunately I am not one of them) is a great example of how guys can rock that trench as well as girls. Trench coat is kind of like the statment piece that represents the awkward season transition (from fall to winter) and it not only keeps you warm but also added an edge on any outfits. Personally my own trench coat season starts around late october and pretty much last till early December, sometimes even mid-december if the weather gets nice. Recently, kpop website Seoulbeats really inspired me big times (reason why I wrote this post) with their airport fashion article (can check it out here). Kpop stars have always been the style icons for many throughout asia, so I thought, "why not do a trench coat review?"

Today I will be mainly focusing on "the variety of the most memorable trench coat in kpop" that I found stunning and of course, as well as looking gorgeous on the model (idols).

Victoria posing with fellow F(x) member Sulli in khaki trench coat for High Cut.

Krystal in a bright orange tranch coat posing for High Cut Mag.

Actress Li min jung posing in a metallic looking sleeves at Paris for InStyle Korea

Miss A's Jia rockin' the dark navy almost black coat for High Cut.

After School Uee wearing Versace x H&M trench coat in a Vogue Korea shoot.

2NE1 Minzy wearing Burberry blake trench coat for one of their events

SNSD's Yuri and Yoona wearing Burberry Prorsum.

Actress Lin min jung in snake print trench coat.

Actress min jung and actor gong yoo pulled off typical classic coats

Rainbow members in their trench coats

G-Dragon in turtle neck and trench coat for BeanPole's ad

Model turned actor Song joong ki posing for High Cut Mag in simple trench, banana is def major in this photo.

Lastly, Lee Min ho in City Hunter (his outfits are beyond amazing):

alright, I'll admit it. I wasn't exactly the biggest fan of lee min ho during his "Boys over flowers" time, probably due to his character. But after City Hunter, I was hooked and lated decided that he might be just one of the hottest k-actors alive. Especially LOVIN' his style in drama, all so care free, designer, yet well-put together without trying too hard. Maybe I am just in love with his character, who knows?

Anyways, kind of getting really off topic, so after this post, I realized how many different ways a person can wear a trench coat with so much combination. Most definitely walking out of the house with a nice trench coat, it will always be a nice confident-booster.

XOXO.

hello EMA.

Although I found the classic kpop signature black (or other color) suits more fitted for this occasion, it is still nice to see BIGBANG being on stage recieving the trophy. I am a proud VIP after all.

Winners.

ladies love

My last post was about them (adding other seven members) and then today I came across this photoshoot Taeyeon and Sunny did for Singles magazine in the November 2011 issue. All I gotta say is, ladies, you rock that look gurl! I somehow find these two wayyyyy underwhlemed than the rest *cough Yoona cough cough Jessica cough* for not so obvious reason (to me). First of all, they look just fine in photos especially fashion magazine photo shoots. The pink one-piece knits and cute little white-boes added a really sugary image of just what they need. Also some of the hairstyle and pieces they wear which reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier and its 60s inspired F/W 2011 ready-to-wear (here). Most importantly, they look comfortable not "act" cute but to "look" cute. Even though it's not exactly "the most ground breaking photo shoot ever in the whole entire SNSD photo-shoot history" and they definitely played it safe on this one, I still find myself enjoying the photos with the two posing (and the fact that they are finally on the spot-light for freakin' once). Gorgeous girls deserve some recongition once in a while.

Isn't she beautiful?
To be honest, Sunny or Taeyeon (nor SNSD) were never my bias in the land of Kpop. But this new album release thingy totally changed my mind about them, not to mention after seeing Sunny's new hair-do and she being the only one who got picked out by lots of people when the watched their latest released music video with THIS look:

Now, I don't care if it's a wig or what. You keep the hair girl, and I will go hunt your hairstylist down.

XOXO,
Joyce

the boys.....where?

Recently, Korean girl group Girl's Generation (aka SNSD) released their new song "The Boys". Now, I've seen many comments and remarks about it. Good or bad aside, my take on this is quite different than everything I've read so far. First of all, in every regular kpopper's knowledge, these nine girls are going to release an album in the US of A around late november. It has been the topic around the block ever since SM-company released the information to the general public, but rather than making statements on whether they will succeed or fail in the States, why not try them out first hand to see if people here will like it? With this in mind, I had my friend and her sister, both had never really been  into the kpop scene and were unaware of what's coming watched the music video in English with subtitles (Notes: one of them is 16 and the other 14years old, and they are both fairly girly). In the beginning, it was suprisinly an incredible dead silence rather than the awkward circumstance I was anticipating. They were obviously amazed and stunned by the strong background music and the pretty asian girls wearing different dresses (in fact, we stopped the video for a little while to pick out our favorites amount them). And then here comes to the girls really singing the song, my friend, just can't help herself but make fun of the little intro-rap Jessica did when she said "GG" which apparently stands for the group's name. With that remark, the girls started doing their thing, dancing while singing, making hand gestures, and looking pretty as usual. My friend and her sister didn't really said anything after the rap, it was only when the little sis brought somethin' up that really got me, "so, they are singing about the boys, but where are the boys?" she asked. The other two of as were like "yeahhhhh, that's a good question." My friend suggested me to fast forward it and see if the boys would show, but not totally suprising, in the end, you see the nine girls ended with signature group post.
"oh, too bad." I said.

In the end, all the comments they made about the mv are either "they all look the same except that girl with the short blonde hair (Sunny, that is)" or "I can barely understand what they were singing but that's all good, the song's quite catchy". After all, it is just another music video that people watched and pass-on perhaps forget about it the next day. So, would they make it in the states being the nine girl foreign group with mmm some dane skill and limited english? (come on! jessica and tiffany, teach other some useful english plz), I honestly don't know. They definitely got there currently strong fanbase globally, but that doesn't mean the majority in United Stated nor people who has absolutely no clue of kpop whatsoever. All I can say is, good luck, SNSD, I like you guys' stuff, but here people likes something called "individuality" and that seems to me the only thing this group is missing at this point right now. Also, the company made a song/mv about "the boys" that have no guys/boys in it, tell me if that would makes any sense to anyone who are just getting to know you.

Take notes, SM-team, take notes.

the girl's at

Stumbled upon the photo shoots Korean actress Song Hye Kyo had with High Cut magazine. Needless to say, she looked stunning as usual, but this time with a bit more mature feminine touch. I love her super curly hair and just pulling off the simple lay-back "OL" look. It's been awhile since she ever participate in a drama or movie production. Just gotta say, she is not the disappointing type. She can come back after two years and still managed to WOW her audience while looking classic, to sum it up, HK is able to bring new things on the table yet at the same time kept the best of the original her.  This woman is a true beauty inside out. I still had vague childhood memories of the cheesy (now when I think back) korean comedy show I always have to watch someday during the week starring her. Her character (who's name I don't at all remember) was pretty much the prettiest one that every guy in the school envied. Her charcter was so remarkable to me due to her acting and her own interpretation to the acting. She not only made a supposely doll-like girlie girl into a strong girl with personality, but one who has so much emotion (kind-hearted, confident, brave, etc). There was this once in my life time that wanted to be like her when I "grow up" as a little girl. And after seeing these phots, I think that little eight year old is slowly coming back, I mean, she is Song Hye Kyo afterall.

Wanna be my girlfriend?

Yes, Boyfriends are backkkkkk!!!!!
As you are reading this, I am assuming you already is aware of the boys' existence.
Their MV for the song "Don't Touch My Girl" (how cheesy, but cute at the same time) just released today. Not gonna lie, they ARE my guilty pressure partly due to the fact that they are the same age as me. Now you must be asking, why not? Here is one universal truth in kpop fandom (it actually pretty much applied to anything in daily basis) :  When idols are same age as you, you are not suppose to like them. No matter how hot or how cute they are, it just doesn't work in the kpop world. Especially teenage girls like me, who usually fall for the awesome gorgeous oppas with killer smile and steller dance moves. Guys who are younger (or same age) tended to be less appealing. and I mean, being born the 1990s, it is rare to be able to get introduced to a boy band that is younger than you (although the trend is changing rather quickly). BUT, with the case of Boyfriend, I hate to say it, it's an exception.

First off, to give a little background, they have an average age of 16.5 (maybe older now?). So in other words, Bieber times 6, do the math and go figure. It is unfortunate but predictable that their age was and still IS the only topic people are pickin' on. Honestly, what's wrong with them being younger than everyone else in the industry? After watching a few clips of them on reality shows and real life action (tasks including piano playing, dance battle, singing challenges, etc), it is undeniable the boys got talent and they work hard like everyone else. Now, I am not saying they are better, they are just 'qualified' to become idols. Not to mention a few cuties in the group: Minwoo (ur too cute to be the boy next door), Twins (I never learn you guys' names but that's okay because both of you looked gorgeously animated), and the others (sorry, but welcome to the real world).

And today as I saw this, reaction was something like "wahhhhhhhhhhhhh" :

One of you (which one are you?) is looking hottttttass with the new hair.
More mature that's for sure, the white blazer is lookin' fly, the somehow awkward but not pose, dang! boy. And most importantly, I would actually date you (yes, the guy in white in the picture above) if you attend my school. I will ask you out in a MINUTE, no joke.

The music video does even a better wraping up his hotness in one:

All I gotta say is: the style noonas are definitely doing their job handling these boys.

They are for sure going to be hot shots in a few years by the time when all the SUJU members are gone off fullfilling their military duties, DBSK too old to perform (probably making enough money for the rest of their life anyways), all the 2PM members evenly distributed around the world becoming weight trainers, 2NE1 made it big in america for a little bit, and SNSD WonderGirls are moms with adorable kids that are all friends with each other.

Life is all good.

Besides, I am No noona.
It is actually not really creepy for me at all to get all giggly watching their MV.
Don't get insulted you noonas out there because really, when you think about it, one one purpose why these younger boy groups do exist in Kpop for the sake of what?!
Of course attract noonas who paid attentions. There, I said it.

Until next time,

XOXO
JW.

WHATUP.

As I am typing this, many people (including myself) must be asking, "Is this girl out of her freakin' mind?"

Indeed, a part of my sanity drived me insane.
Yes, I know there are millions of thousands of kpop websites out there waiting for you to explore whether is a fanmade "oppa-I-love-you" sites or the "updated-literally-every-single-second" Kpop news sites, these webs are everywhere. So that's why this blog is not going to be about reporting news or me obessessing over some Kpop idol groups (okay......maybe just a little). It is pure what I like, what I don't like, and how I see it, maybe beyond anyone's ability to handle because we all know once you critize someone's idols they are going to hunt you down eventually and tear you up in pieces.

But do I care? Not really. My blog, my saying, done deal.

Anyways, this is just an intro-post.
I'm going to be working really hard on the setting and everything and here is the thing:

your typical Kpop website---> some cutesy or sexy idol pictures as the background, some most recent kpop "hit" as the background music, the words are in so many different colors (as in 3 different colors for just one sentence), and of course, random icons of idols flying around the screen.

My vision of this blog ---> simple, simple, classic background. Music, preferably contain no lyrics. The words are going to be mono-color. And possibly only provide the minium pictures in one post.

So here you go, more reasons why you should read my blog.

Next post coming soon.
(Hint: average age of 16, noonas' guilty pressure)
